The local authorities led by aspiring official Jakub Marczak (Tomasz Schuchardt) enlist the help of hydrology expert Ja\u015bmina Tremer (Agnieszka \u017bulewska) to save the city at all costs. Meanwhile, Andrzej R\u0119bacz (Ireneusz Czop) returns to his home village K\u0119ty near Wroc\u0142aw and becomes an unexpected leader of a group of rebellious villagers who try to stop the floodbank from being blown up. Under growing pressure, the authorities take a hard decision that will forever change the lives of the main characters as well as the history of the entire region and its inhabitants.
