January 13, 1993. The passengers and crew of the ferry Heweliusz depart from the port of Świnoujście, Poland, heading for Ystad, Sweden. The journey quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival as a powerful storm confronts them with the brutal force of the sea. On land, distraught families face the darker side of human nature as they undertake an equally difficult struggle to uncover the truth about the disaster and to preserve the dignity and good name of those lost at sea.
